My Projects.
My goal is to make beautiful stuff for a business with a great mission - let’s talk about how I can help you.
Some Of My Past Projects
SaltStrong Revenue Growth
SaltStrong has very aggressive growth goals, and in just 90 days, I was able to achieve a 23% growth in revenue by crafting more exciting offers, driving better promotions, revamping public facing content, and optimizing landing pages
We were already spending 10% of our revenue on ads, so we couldn’t massively increase our ad budget, so I had to focus on increasing our efficiency.
By changing the rate at which we generated new ad creative, I was able to increase ROAS from 110% to 142%.
By utilizing social listening and mobile optimization, I was able to increase our conversion rate on our main landing page by 31% in just 60 days.
Mentoring a new copywriter, boosting the average email open rate from 43% to 51% and increasing the average click-through rate from 3% to 5%.
SaltStrong Social Media Growth
SaltStrong is a company with excellent marketing. They are made up of talented copywriters and ad buyers. They have even gone viral on social media several times in their 8 years.
However, their tactics were nearly 100% focused on long form video. With the advent of TikTok, all platforms have been moving towards short form video, and so our tactics had to adjust!
By tweaking the format of our videos, as well as picking and choosing the topics with the most traction, In just 90 days I was able to increase our weekly social media reach from:
1.1M to 3.5M (Facebook)
137K to 253K (Instagram)
496K to 839K (YouTube)
Herc Is a Jerk! (Personal Project)
I don’t always post the personal projects that I work on, but I thought this not only showcased some of my best creative skills but also a bit of my personality.
I wrote and illustrated “Herc is a Jerk” for my own son after seeing a lack of good children’s books celebrating classical fiction and mythology.
“Herc is a Jerk” is a fun poem about a young boy learning to be polite and clean up after a hard day at play!
During his day of play, you’ll meet:
The Nemean Lion, Cerberus, Eurystheus, The Hydra, The Erymanthian Boar, Ladon the Dragon, The Garden of the Hesperides, The Stymphalian Birds, and the Argonauts!
CreatorU Content.
The core part of my job is managing a team of creatives, reviewing, and editing our course materials. I help with the production of videos, PDFs, presentations, emails, landing pages, design assets, and social media to ensure quality and brand consistency.
After 3 months, I noticed a major bottleneck with the founder of the company needing to draft and record new course materials while running the business. In order to alleviate these bottlenecks, I developed new course material by analyzing subscriber pain points, researching existing solutions, and brainstorming tailored fixes for the CreatorU audience.
CreatorU Live
CreatorU Live is the premium subscription level of CreatorU. My job is to find appropriate guests who are experts in their field, reach out to them with or without introduction, and encourage them to come on the show.
Despite not being able to offer financial compensation for these appearances, I have scheduled 24 guests over the past year to come onto CreatorU, share free pieces of training with us, and coordinate with their team to create assets and appear on our live show in a timely manner.
I also managed the live production of these productions and field Q&A from our live audiences. I have even appeared as a guest host on the show.
CreatorU Launch & Support
I first began my work at SamCart by helping to launch its eLearning platform, CreatorU. During its first week, I helped grow it to 10,000 subscribers while learning a new system, troubleshooting customer access issues, supporting customer questions and needs during launch, and analyzing marketing data to pivot live marketing strategy for maximum reach and impact.
CreatorU Instructional Guidance
As the only person with a holistic view of the platform content, I also provide instructional guidance and support for subscribers by fielding questions via live chat, email, and text.
These frequently take the form of answering live Q&A on CreatorU, answering questions from our support team, and even some late nights supporting questions via text from prospective customers during launch weeks.
CreatorU Social Media
After 1 year at CreatorU, I was asked to take on our social media efforts as well. I have past experience growing my YouTube channel to over 6,000 subscribers and over 6 million views, but I don’t consider myself a social media expert, especially as it differs from short video content strategy.
However, due to their trust in my ability to take on new challenges, I was asked to take on our social media presence. I have grown the followers by 9.5% and views by 480%.
CreatorU Video Production & Design
Though I work with a team of video editors and designers, in order to allow people to take PTO, family leave, or just tackle large projects, I often fill in by taking on video and design tasks.
I have recorded lots of videos, webinars and b-roll for our team, edited social media reels, created dozens of PDFs, and edited hundreds of thumbnails and other visual assets.
CreatorU Copy
I haven’t considered myself a copywriter, and count myself fortunate to partner with and manage many excellent copywriters over time. When I moved to a 3 person team, I lost a lot of team members, and had to take on the sole responsibility for a lot of marketing tasks, including landing page and email copy.
I now am an accomplished direct response copywriter, and my email campaigns have led to over a million dollars in revenue for us and routinely see 20%+ open rates.
Affirma Re-Brand.
Affirma required a complete re-brand. This task was half task focused, and half project management, as getting leadership and employees onboard with new content was particularly challenging at times.
(Re-branded sales-deck, website, landing pages, blogs, emails, one-pagers, and more.)
Landing Page Migration & Design.
One of the most time intensive parts of the Affirma re-brand were landing pages. Affirma had over 100 landing pages that needed to be redesigned in a new platform, re-branded, with new content - and the results were awesome.
Affirma Video RFPs.
Large companies and government agencies often request proposals for services from the private sector and sending videos in your proposals helps you win deals.
PPC & Advertising.
Along with landing page migration, I oversaw PPC and Advertising. With a $0.5m yearly budget, I was able to raise revenue from $750k a quarter to $1.6m.
Affirma Content.
Affirma needed tons of visual content created: illustrations, iconography, branded photos, advertisements, etc. I made thousands of pieces of content between all of these categories.
